We would like to reach out to you to give you an idea, a taste of this beautiful destination. Plant the faint scent of wild herbs, mandarins and oranges just plucked from a tree and burning wood fires in your imagination.

You will fall in love with this place already on your way from Athens. If you are lucky to arrive while it is still light you will see the beauty of the area grow with each curve you take while you steer your car towards its final destination. The closer you come, the more stunning it will be. Leonidio will literally open its arms once you drive around the “final” curve that takes you away from the sea and the stunning coastline. Fields and agricultural farms mark the entrance to the picturesque town. The characteristic red mountains lie majestically and protective around the community of Leonidio.

We do not want to paint the entire picture yet, but leave some parts for your imagination. Let us share some facts instead:

Leonidio is situated in the south-eastern part of the Peloponnese, in the county of Arcadia. The capital of Tsakonia is immersed in the shade of the imposing rocks of Parnonas and surrounded by the enchanting natural scenery of the lash valley and the endless blue of the Argolic Gulf.

The Hotel Archontiko Hatzipanayiotis is located in the heart of Leonidio. The original building has an interesting history and dates back to 1809. It has been restored with great care. All of the rooms have been decorated with love and each one is unique.

A warm welcome, a good night sleep in one of the cozy rooms, a delicious breakfast with local products (thyme honey, homemade marmalades and jams, typical pies with vegetables from the local fields, walnuts from the Parnon mountains and not to forget the o-so-good and fresh orange juice from local oranges) and wonderful hosts looking after you – what more do you need to start your day?!

Up for an adventure? Climb one of the many routes. Leonidio has established itself as a climbing destination and is working very hard with the help of dedicated and well-known climbing personalities on developing existing crags and adding new routes.

Not much of a climber, but want to test your endurance? Bring your mountain bike in the cooler season and challenge yourself to a ride on the curvy and steep mountain road to Kosmas. Stop there for a great view and do not forget to taste the traditional goat soup.

You like to dive into the history of Greece and visit monasteries and traditional churches?

The monastery of Elona is not far away. In addition you can visit one of the traditional mansions – the Tsikaliotis House in Leonidion. Archaeological sites, unique churches, enchanting monasteries – there is so much to discover. And many of them are only a few hours away.

Not so much into history? Dive into the blue blue Myrtoon Sea and discover the magical underwater world. If you are lucky you may be able to see dolphins.

If you time your visit you may experience deeply traditional and fascinating celebrations such as Easter or one of the many festivals during the summer season.  Come and join us for Melitzazz or one of the many panigiria during the summer.

All you really want is to crash on the beach? There are many opportunities to find the perfect spot for a day on the beach.

The only thing we cannot offer are the white sandy beaches one may associate with a holiday. But we can offer so much more. Traditional and local food, lovely people and a truly relaxing stay at our hotel.
